My life as of lately: The shortest month of the year continued

This is for all things new in my life. Lets do this in order. So Sunday my car completely crapped out. Im talking like DONEZO. We finally made our way home but I had a little appointment set up that I didnt want to break.
Every one meet Chuck. Chuck Close has always been someone I have looked up to since high school and now get to show him off proudly. I couldnt be more happy with how well he turned out. I will post better pictures of it when it gets done healing. Side note: IT HURT LIKE A MOTHER! A week later my daddio flew back out to help me buy this little baby.
I am a proud new owner of a 2012 Scion XD. No co-signers, no nothing. This baby is all mine and I love it. I nicked named him the Storm Trooper because .. well, thats what I think it looks like. Like I said earlier in the week, February has been one crazy month.

My life as of lately: The shortest month of the year continued

This is an update about my multiple jobs. Now most people would be exhausted by the thought of multiple jobs but to be honest it doesnt even feel like work. I get to design and be creative everyday and I couldnt explain to you how I wake up in the morning grateful for the choices I have made in my life along with the opportunities that have been handed to me. I seriously love my life.
At KIN Los Angeles I get to design for.

The new hangtags for the new product coming in.

My life as of lately: The shortest month of the year

February is the shortest month of the year but to me, I feel as if it has been the LONGEST! So much has happened and the month isnt even done yet! I have been trying to give a little update of my life once month but if I did that for this short little month, we would be here all day. So for your viewing pleasure I decided to break it up into three different posts. Lets start with all the visitors I have gotten so far this month.

Lets start with last weekend. My daddio came to town to attend the races that were going on in Pomona on Sunday buuut of course my life never goes according to plan. (I am giving you a little sneak peak of wednesdays post) I picked him up late Friday night and got right to sleep because we had plans for Saturday. Saturday was an adorably ideal day. It was a perfect father/daughter day. I took him to lunch and ate at Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles. He had never been and this was a pivotal lunch in our relationship. For the last 23 years (and especially the last 3 years) he has been paying the bill and finally after scoring my amazing job I got to treat. It was a great feeling. After that we headed on over to the Queen Mary, where SEEA had a booth at Inspiration LA. This event is like a massive garage sale filled with amazingly awesome vintage finds. I was blown away at everything I saw. Three stories of old treasures.

Seriously, how much cuter could they get?!

The next day was the day that went all wrong. Lets just say my daddio didnt make it to the race that he originally came out to see, which was such a bummer. I will go more into detail about this Wednesday. I said good bye to my dad Monday but wasnt sad for too long because I got to stay with my favorite co-worker in the whole wide world Lynnsee in Long Beach, where it just so happened that my Texas bestie Drey was staying with her boy just down the street. We spent time hanging out with them and another friend Nate, who was also visiting from Texas.

It was a hectic, yet an amazing little week. I will continue with more details both tomorrow and Wednesday, so stay tuned!

My life as of lately: Finally I catch a break

So I wont sugar coat anything, since my last life update post things seemed to get worse. The new year has been consumed with wasting gas on failed job interviews, applying for countless jobs and hearing nothing in return and even a tiny fender bender. You know those fender benders where its almost more work to report it? Yea, it was like one little stupid thing after another. It felt as if I was being punished for something. Everything that could go wrong, seemed to be happening. BUUUT things change mid month and things are finally looking up.

- I got a great internship with the cutest vintage swim wear company named Seea, where I get to run all of their social media. I love my boss, she is the most adorable thing ever and I get to learn everything about surfing first hand from her. I cant wait to continue to work with her and her amazing brand.

- AAAND THEEEN, on top of that I GOT MY VERY FIRST REAL PERSON JOB! You know, one of those jobs with medical benefits and a 401k! My job tasks contain everything from designing, branding, marketing and even photography. BONUS!

Lastly, I need to give a HUGE shout out to my girl Lynnsee for giving me this amazing opportunity! I get to work with my adorable little friend, while doing what I love and on top of that, I get paid for it! I am on cloud 9 right now!

My life as of lately: The New Year

Well it's almost a new year. I feel as if 2011 went by in a blink of an eye. I dont know how many times I have done this but yes, I am starting yet another blog. This one is different in the sense that it will be more of a public diary for all my friends, family, and any other person to view my journey as a recently graduated college student. I'll give you a summary of the last two month because they were probably the two hardest month I have yet to endure. Dealing with school, friends, personal projects, a small medical scare, traveling, money, family. Now that i have it all written out in front of me it doesn't seem to be that bad but I am still feel the after effects of exhaustion from it.

So this is me, hating my life, trying to make it through my last two months of school. I had every intention of prepping my portfolio in advance but then all my travels got in the way. Texas, New York, Colorado. There was one point I was out of town for 13 days. I know, I live a hard life. That has all changed now. I no longer fly for free and I'm already feeling the withdraws. I dont wanna talk about it. (I would rather just cry alone. R.I.P. flight benefits. you will be missed. dearly)

These pictures were taking through out my last 11 weeks at the Art Institue of Awesomeness (As Miss Lauren Jacobson would like to call it.) This was my class. I couldn't of asked for a better support group. It was along hull, full of ups and downs and plenty of laughter.

This is myself both at the final portfolio showing and graduation. I feel as if this happened forever ago but it has been less than a month. People always ask me how it feels to be a college graduate and to be honest if I really really (really) think about it, I get this nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach and I have to hold back my tears a little. To think, I will never have to step foot into a school (if I didnt want to) ever again. Its sort of a surreal feeling.

Of course friends and family flew, drove, caught a ride out to (very) Southern California to celebrate my accomplishment and I was so humbled by everyone who came to congratulate me. Now that I am graduated and the party is over, I am ready/ scared shitless to see where this year will take me. So many things have happened with in these last two to three months I feel as if I could take on anything now. I have always been a victim of self doubt and I am trying to overcome that. I am so excited to see where this hundred thousand piece of paper they call a degree will take me and if I "make it" (what ever that means) in the real world.
