Treat Yo Self

Seen this? I hadnt until my good friend Lynnsee Boo Boo opened my eyes to Treat Yo Self. After watching this (multiple times) we got inspired to treat ourselves as well. We are the girls who buy out of desperation until a wise, fashionable, red head told us to shop with a theme in mind of who you want to be, have an outfit in mind instead of shopping aimlessly. By doing this, you wont look at your closet with the thought in mind "Im bored of my clothes." So here is what will go down once a month:
A. We find ourselves an inspiration photo of an outfit we adore, mine being this one:

B. We then take our inspiration photo and go on the hunt to try
and match our inspiration outfit to the best of our abilities.
C. Document it.

HOW FUN!? I know I am pretty excited too. Now dont let my multi-photo inspiration picture fool you, Im not trying to buy a new wardrobe. That is not was Treat Yo Self is about, I just like to have options and be prepared. Stop back by to see if Treat Yo Self 2012 March Edition was a success or a bust.

FOODSCAPE

The boys over at FOODBEAST put on this amazing little shindig called "FoodScape". Now I am about a week behind on posting about this but I didn't want to pass up the opportunity to blog about how impressed I was by it. It was a great night filled with food, friends, art and even a couple of drinks to end the night. Another Californian night that made me so glad I live the life that I do.

My life as of lately: The shortest month of the year

February is the shortest month of the year but to me, I feel as if it has been the LONGEST! So much has happened and the month isnt even done yet! I have been trying to give a little update of my life once month but if I did that for this short little month, we would be here all day. So for your viewing pleasure I decided to break it up into three different posts. Lets start with all the visitors I have gotten so far this month.

Lets start with last weekend. My daddio came to town to attend the races that were going on in Pomona on Sunday buuut of course my life never goes according to plan. (I am giving you a little sneak peak of wednesdays post) I picked him up late Friday night and got right to sleep because we had plans for Saturday. Saturday was an adorably ideal day. It was a perfect father/daughter day. I took him to lunch and ate at Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles. He had never been and this was a pivotal lunch in our relationship. For the last 23 years (and especially the last 3 years) he has been paying the bill and finally after scoring my amazing job I got to treat. It was a great feeling. After that we headed on over to the Queen Mary, where SEEA had a booth at Inspiration LA. This event is like a massive garage sale filled with amazingly awesome vintage finds. I was blown away at everything I saw. Three stories of old treasures.

Seriously, how much cuter could they get?!

The next day was the day that went all wrong. Lets just say my daddio didnt make it to the race that he originally came out to see, which was such a bummer. I will go more into detail about this Wednesday. I said good bye to my dad Monday but wasnt sad for too long because I got to stay with my favorite co-worker in the whole wide world Lynnsee in Long Beach, where it just so happened that my Texas bestie Drey was staying with her boy just down the street. We spent time hanging out with them and another friend Nate, who was also visiting from Texas.

It was a hectic, yet an amazing little week. I will continue with more details both tomorrow and Wednesday, so stay tuned!

Bringin' it back!

Photobucket

THAT'S RIGHT WORLD! Too Cute Tuesday is coming back. Now some of you might be asking, Too Cute Tuesday? What is that and where did it go? Well let me give you the history behind Too Cute Tuesday. It started quite simply on Facebook between some too cute friends and I.

There you have it, Too Cute Tuesday was born. We kept it going for about 3 months and then we started graduating, not having classes together, and one Too Cute Tuesday originator even moved across the country! Now a year later all of us, be scattered across the US, decided we miss Too Cute Tuesday and want to bring it back! Now, I know you are thinking to your cute little self:

I WANNA BE APART OF TOO CUTE TUESDAY!

And we would love for you to join! So here is how you do it. Simply take a picture of your self ON A TUESDAY and blog about it on a TUESDAY. Then leave me a comment on my Too Cute Tuesday post for the month (which, for me, will be the last tuesday of the month) or send me an email to sierajosephine@gmail.com labeled "Too Cute Tuesday" or "TCT" with a link to your blog and I will link you on my Too Cute Tuesday post (again, for me, will be the last tuesday of the month) Or if you dont have a blog send me the picture of your cuteness and I will feature you here on my blog!

And here we are! Me, Lauren J. and Lauren A. This is an old one from the old days but it has always been my favorite! I miss these girls so much! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me here on this post or email me: sierajosephine@gmail.com. LETS MAKE THE BORING DAY THAT IS TUESDAY SUPER CUTE!

My Honey badger

Ok there is this girl, who has two first names. Lauren Ashley. It sounds made up huh? Well it's not. When I first saw Lauren Ashley, I wasnt too sure of her. I couldn't even tell you why other than I was young and judgmental and to this day I am kicking myself for not becoming friends with her sooner. I will never judge a book by its cover EVER again.
I have never connected with a person so instantly and intensely like I did with this girl. After really hanging out with her for the first time getting wasted (see picture above) at an open bar fashion show our school was putting on, I had fallen in love. Pretty much the next year we were joined at the hip. We spent every moment with each other. It was a year of laughing at inappropriate times, weird noises, inside jokes about things we couldnt even begin to explain and a constant sharing of creativity. Oh and A LOT of food was consumed also.
Then she graduated and moved away from me, literally to the other side of the country. I was so happy to see her finally spread her wings and break away from her norm of southern Orange County but I was so sad to see her leave. I felt as if I was losing a piece of myself as lame as that sounds. California hasnt been the same since the day she left.
So now I get to see her about 3 times or less a year, which when I really think about it makes me tear up a little bit. I have originally always hated New York city but every time I visit her and her lovely little boyfriend Hart, I fall a little bit more in love with that disgusting city. I have even had the crazy thoughts of maybe even moving out there. CRAZY TALK RIIIGHT?
I am writing this because I tried my hardest to make it out there to surprise her on her birthday weekend but it just didnt work out and I couldnt be more upset about it. I love and miss you like crazy, honey b. Hurry home.
